Just toured the new Brewhouse Inn & Suites Hotel in the old Pabst brewery building in downtown Milwaukee yesterday, a spectacular reclaimed interior space, especially when you go up the winding front staircase to the soaring interior lobby on Floors 2 thru 6.  Beautiful 19th century stained leaded 3 story glass windows, charming 20th century subway tile walls, several very clever uses of mezzanine and rooftop lounging spaces, and terrific display of the huge copper brewing kettles from both inside and outside.

And they're going for LEED platinum so its a terrifc green hotel.  brewhousesuites.com

Definitely could be nominated by the BLLA Boutique Lodging and Lifestyle Association as one of the next potential winners for Boutique Hotel of the Year.

I'm a very well-connected National Sales Manager looking for a great new job.

I'm a very well-connected National Sales Manager looking for a great new job. My focus for over 10 years has been selling Decorative Lighting and Hospitality Furnishings along with related supplies into the hospitality, purchasing, and design industries. That followed a decade of experience in marketing, inside sales, and customer service leadership in manufacturing and sales agency firms.

I've been talking to companies on the phone in the last month , and last week in person in Las Vegas at the Hospitality Design Expo, exploring new opportunities to join a progressive company to expand their hospitality division (or create one from scratch) by providing marketing & sales solutions appropriate for hotels, resorts, time shares, senior living, restaurants, and their related architecture and design and purchasing trades.

I can't post my resume on Facebook or Linked In or Twitter, but it is available immediately by request via email (in fact I was txting and emailing it from my phone and tablet and laptop during and after chats with folks last week). I also have an outstanding set of professional and personal references ready to take calls and emails from interested employers who want to know about my skills and experience and background.

Up until now I've been very quiet about my search but have learned that it's much better to have many eyes and ears catching possible opportunities I might be well-suited for and/or very interested in. Several discussions are on-going but have not been finalized, so I'd still like to hear from more places.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you are looking for national sales into hospitality or know of someone who is.

It's good to know I'm needed and wanted. Very happy with the great support and positive responses I've been getting already to my more open jobhunting online and in-person during the setup before the HDExpo conference in Vegas.  Have several more in-person interviews set up for potential national sales manager opportunites becuase of earlier posts, and have many more eyes and ears open on my behalf as well.

Getting very good comments from my suppliers, competitors, past employers, reps, clients, and many folks I know in the hospitality industry.  I'm encouraged that I'll really be able to put my skills and connections and experience and knowledge to excellent use.

Thursday, May 9, 2013

My updated resume is being a bit more openly posted and reviewed these days. Was more of a secret a month or two ago, but the time is here for me to say "I'm available!" had interesting contact form Monster already, totally out of my usual field, but good to hear. I'll be actively discussing any national or regional sales manager opportunities in person next week in Vegas at the HDExpo.

The hotel and resort and restaurant marketplaces are hungry for good quality lighting sources and attractive decorative lighting fixtures all at reasonable prices. They often source and shop outside the usual typical electrical and lighting distribution channels which both mystifies and frustrates many manufacturers unfamiliar with the process. My considerable connections and experience selling into this unique hospitality marketplace bring insight and skills and connections to a light source (light bulb) manufacturer or luminaire (lighting fixture) manufacturer that wants to grow their existing hospitality program - or grow into it if they don't currently have a dedicated hospitality market channel already. My executive brief outlining my abilities is posted on the NEWH Career Network website, and is also available upon request.
