The Resort Hotel Outlook Remains Positive Into 2016 And Beyond

Great article from HotelManagement magazine outlining healthy room bookings and high sale prices on mergers and acquisitions, both in the US and around the world for 2015 and 2016. Looks good for the upper scale and luxury resort hotel markets: high occupancy, high room rates, high prices paid for resorts being bought, all good signs for a continued good couple of years
phoenician.jpgAttachment
"The resort segment has prospered this year and shows every sign of continuing to thrive in 2016 and beyond in the U.S., the Caribbean and even international destinations.

And despite the large number of resort projects in the construction pipeline, suitable sites for new construction are getting harder to find and the development process can be time consuming and exorbitant"

The 10 Best Cruise Ship Luxury Suites

Great article from CruiseCritic magazine about a few of the best upscale suites on cruise ships today, too bad it doesn't name some of the excellent interior designers that created these spaces, but the photography is terrific and makes you want to check them out in person.
Attachment
"Cabins in two cruiseship categories are the first to sell out whenever a cruise itinerary goes on sale: the most inexpensive staterooms and the most expensive top-of-the-line suites. There are far fewer suites than regular cabins, so competition is fierce for these options that offer extra space and exclusive perks.
RCLbestsuites.jpg
There's a larger variety of luxury cruise suites than ever before, but some still absolutely stand out from the competition. CruiseCritic magazine offers their favorites among the industry's most drop-dead gorgeous, pampering and elegant accommodations at sea."

The Psychology Of Restaurant Design

You think you’re in charge, having planned the time, the companions, the type of cuisine, and the ambiance for a dinner out. But what you don’t realize is, the restaurant has chosen you. Every detail has been meticulously plotted around your age, status, and preferences to lead you blithely to the restaurant’s door.

Here’s a look at the thinking behind the bar, playlist, tabletops, menu, hostess desk, and everything else you see, hear, taste, and smell.
